Shoulders

Who is standing on your shoulders?

We stood on their shoulders, those who came before us. We climbed on their backs, not because the climb was easy, but because they were strong enough to carry what they couldn’t yet finish.

We clung to their arms and legs, grasped their hands, fixed our eyes on their feet, and followed their footsteps, step by step, trusting that the path had already been walked.

We heard the sound of their voices, some loud, some trembling, some barely above a whisper. We read their lips and we leaned in. We listened intently and embraced their words, even when the truth cost them something.

By the grace of God, we stepped out in faith.
Not alone. Not afraid. But together…and collectively, we took action.

As our souls connect with theirs, we pause to honor the sacrifice, to acknowledge the tears, to thank them for persevering, for enduring at all costs, and for believing when belief felt impossible.

And now the question turns toward us.

Are we preparing our shoulders for this generation and the generations to come?

Are we standing firm enough to be leaned on, steady enough to be trusted, strong enough to lift others higher than we ever stood ourselves?

Children not yet born are depending on us. Dreams not yet spoken are resting on our obedience. The future is watching what we do with what we’ve been given.

So be someone’s shoulder to stand on. Be someone’s reason to keep climbing. Be someone’s proof that faith in action still matters.

Because one day, someone will rise higher because you chose to stand.

Who is standing on your shoulders?

“Then Moses called to Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land which the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall give it to them as an inheritance. The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”
~ Deuteronomy 31:7-8

With love,
Andrea
